Empanada and Curry Puff Class
RECORDED CLASS
Empanada and Curry Puffs are baked or fried turnover that consist of pastry and savory filling. Each pastry has a deep history of its origins and yet, always gives us pleasure when we eat it. Join us in this class as our Chef Instructors teach you all the tips and tricks that they know on making these kinds of pastries.
You will need the following if you plan to participate in the class:
Requirements:
Pastry: (For both Empanada and Curry Puff)
- MAYA All-Purpose Flour
- sugar
- salt
- shortening
- water
- Paste:
- MAYA All-Purpose Flour
- shortening
Empanada Filling:
- oil
- garlic, minced
- onion, chopped
- potatoes, cubed
- carrot, cubed
- chicken breast, chopped
- cream of chicken
- soy sauce
- raisins
- salt and pepper to taste
Curry Puff Filling:
- diced onion
- garlic, crushed
- vegetable oil
- potatoes, diced
- sliced beef loin or ground beef
- curry powder
- turmeric powder
- brown sugar
- salt and pepper to taste
Our Chef Instructors
Chef Dan Wilford B. Libunao and Chef Elvie Ibale are both Maya Kitchen in-house Culinary Instructors. Chef Dan teaches Culinary Certificate Classes and also assist and teach some Baking class and Baking Certificate Classes.
Chef Elvie, on the other hand has been with Maya Kitchen for more than 20 years now. She teaches every baking related classes, from our Baking Certificate Classes, bread making to Special Cakes and Pastries to Fondant making and decorating.
