Sweet ‘N Spicy Chicken Wings


  • 500 grams Chicken Wings
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • ¾ cup MAYA All-Purpose Flour
  • ¼ cup MAYA Cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Enough oil for frying


  • ¼ - 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup barbecue marinade
  • ½ cup sweet and chili sauce
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes
  • 1-2 teaspoon hot chili sauce
  • Spring onions chopped garnish (optional)


  1. Season chicken wings with salt, pepper, and chili powder. Set aside in a bowl. Combine flour, cornstarch, chili powder, and pepper to create a dry mixture. Dredge the seasoned chicken wings into the dry mixture then deep-fry until golden brown. Set aside.

  2. In another pan, mix together all ingredients for the sauce and bring to a boil, then simmer until it reduces.

  3. Toss all fried chicken wings into the sauce. Sprinkle spring onions on top right before serving.
