Ham-Cheese Loaf

Ham-Cheese Loaf

INGREDIENTS

2 – 2 1/2 cups sifted MAYA All–purpose Flour
2 teaspoons yeast
1 cup lukewarm water
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 pack ham slices, diced (250 grams)
2/3 cup grated cheddar cheese

PROCEDURE

Dissolve yeast in water in a large mixing bowl. Stir in sugar, salt and 1 cup of flour. Beat until smooth.

Combine ham and grated cheese. Add into yeast mixture. Add enough flour to make dough easy to handle.

Turn dough onto floured board and knead until smooth and elastic, approximately 5 minutes. Form dough in a ball and place in a greased bowl. Cover with damp cloth and let rise for 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours.

Punch down dough and transfer to lightly floured board. Work out gas by pressing with palm of hand, at the same time forming dough into rectangular shape. Roll loosely to form a loaf. Place in lightly greased loaf pan. Cover with damp cloth and let rise again for 1 1/2 hour to 2 hours or until dough reaches the edge of loaf pan. Bake in preheated oven 350 degrees F for 50 minutes to 1 hour. Cool and slice as desired. Serve with your favorite soup or beverage.
