Cookie Sticks

INGREDIENTS

1 ½ cups MAYA All-Purpose Flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
¼ teaspoon baking soda
1 tablespoon sugar
½ teaspoon salt
¼ cup butter
½ cup milk

Egg Wash:

1 egg yolk
2 tablespoons milk
sesame seeds, as needed

PROCEDURE

Pre-heat oven to 350°F/177°C. Line a baking sheet with baking paper. Set aside. Place flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar and salt in the food processor, and pulse for a few seconds. Add butter and pulse until the mixture becomes grainy. Add milk gradually and pulse until the dough becomes smooth. Form into a log and cover with cling wrap. Chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour. On a floured surface, roll the dough until about ¼-inch thick. Cut into strips and roll until desired length is reached. Arrange on the baking sheet. Brush with egg wash, and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake in the pre-heated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the cookie sticks are brown.
