INGREDIENT
Candied Rose Petals
organic rose petals, as needed
egg white, as needed
white sugar, as needed
Yellow Cake
1 pack MAYA Decadence Yellow Cake Mix 520g
1 cup + 1 tablespoon water
3 eggs
1/3 cup vegetable oil
Rose Water
2 cups water
3 cups rose petals
Poured Fondant:2 ¼ cups confectioner’s sugar
2 tablespoons corn syrup
¼ cup rose water
¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
desired food color
PROCEDURE
Prepare candied rose petals

(K) Choose rose petals of any color. Before using, wash and dry them completely.

(K) Beat the egg white in a bowl. Dip or brush each petal with egg white and coat in sugar.

(K) Put them on a tray with baking paper. Let them dry in a cool, dry place for 2-3 hours.
Prepare yellow cake

Preheat oven to 350?F/177?C. Grease and line the bottom of two 8 x 8 x 2-inch round pans. Set aside.

(K) In a mixing bowl, combine cake mix, water, eggs and oil. Beat by hand using a wire whisk until well-blended.

Pour mixture into the prepared pans and bake for 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted at the center comes out clean.

(K) Allow to cool and cut into 2-inch cubes.
Prepare rose water

Boil the rose petals in water for 15 minutes. Cool and strain.

Bottle and keep in the refrigerator before using.
Prepare poured fondant

In a heatproof bowl set over simmering water, mix the confectioners’ sugar, corn syrup, rose water, and vanilla until warm, well combined, and smooth. Remove from heat.

Stir in enough food coloring until desired color is reached.
To assemble

(K) Put cake pieces on a wire rack. Pour fondant on top of cake until covered.

(K) Top each cake with a candied rose petal.
NOTES
Other MAYA products such as MAYA Oven Toaster Chocolate Cake Mix, MAYA Oven Toaster Butter Cake Mix, and MAYA Decadence Devil’s Food Cake, may be substituted for the MAYA Decadence Yellow Cake Mix.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
