As much as we love bread in our daily meals–whether for breakfast, lunch, merienda, or dinner– more often than not, you end up with a few slices that aren’t as fresh as the day you bought it.
Here are two straightforward ways to make use of that almost-stale bread you have left in the kitchen.
CROUTONS
Chop your remaining bread slices into cubes and place in a bowl. Combine with herbs, spices, and seasonings of your choice and toss in a bowl with some olive oil. Fry it butter for a few minutes and voila–quick n’ easy croutons for you to enjoy with your salad or soup.
BREADCRUMBS
Fire up your skillet and fry your leftover bread until crispy. When done, ground the bread using a food processor, or blender. Add some parsley, thyme and rosemary, or Parmesan cheese for that extra oomph!
Try these simple life hacks and never let leftover bread go to waste again.
