How to Keep Fruits and Vegetables Fresh Longer
1. Leafy greens
Wrap in a paper towel and refrigerate in a plastic bag.
2. Citrus fruits
Fruits Like oranges and lemons will last for a week when stored in a cool, dark place, but you can store them in the fridge to keep them fresh longer with a mesh or perforated plastic bag.
3. Unripe fruits and veggies
Store bananas, avocados, tomatoes, mangoes, kiwis and pears in the counter until ripe, then move to the fridge.
4. Other vegetables
Store veggies like carrots, broccoli, cabbage and celery in a plastic bag in the crisper drawer of the fridge, and store them away from fruits.
