Pan Seared Tuna with Teriyaki Glaze

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 piece lemon juiced
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 pack tuna steak

Teriyaki glaze:

  • 1/4 cup sake
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons water
  • 1 tablespoon MAYA Cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

For marinade:

  1. In a clean bowl, mix oyster sauce, soy sauce, lemon juice, sugar, and pinch of salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Marinate tuna steak for 1 to 2 hours.
  1. After marinating the tuna, brush it with oil to retain its moistness.
  2. Sear tuna in a medium size pan, until outside part of the tuna is cooked but not all the way thru.
  3. Brush pan seared tuna with teriyaki glaze. Serve.

For teriyaki glaze:

  1. In a medium size pot, add sake, brown sugar, soy sauce, and 2 teaspoons of water. Let it boil.
  2. Add cornstarch dissolved in 2 tablespoon of water to thicken the glaze.
  3. Reduce the teriyaki glaze until it thickens. Set aside.
