Makabayan na Cakes

Makabayan na Cakes

The month of August celebrates nationalism and all things Filipino. On this particular month, we hold our Buwan ng Wika celebration, where children are encouraged to speak in the vernacular, and wear national costumes in school programs which feature our heritage and traditions.

Buwan ng Wika coincides with the birth anniversary of former President Manuel Quezon, our Ama ng Wikang Pambansa, who was born on August 19, 1878.

Apart from this, we also celebrate two major holidays — Ninoy Aguino Day on August 21, dedicated to Sen. Benigno Aquino Jr., attributed as a leader in modern Philippine democracy, and National Heroes Day on August 31, where we give tribute to all the courageous men and women in our long history, who enabled us to grow as a nation.

We honor them with these Makabayan na Cakes, as a testament to their lives and deeds, and dedication to our beloved Philippines.
