Chocolate Ganache Cake

Chocolate Ganache Cake

INGREDIENTS

1 pack MAYA Decadence Devil’s Food Cake Mix 550g

1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 cup water
2 whole eggs
Ganache:
2 cups all–purpose cream
2 cups chocolate, broken into pieces
Decoration:
chocolate shavings

PROCEDURE

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and line two 8–inch round pans. Set aside. In a bowl, combine cake mix, oil, water and eggs. Mix on low speed for 30 seconds using a wire whisk attachment. Scrape the sides of the bowl. Shift speed of mixer to medium speed and continue beating for 2 minutes (if mixing by hand, mix for 2 1/2 minutes or until mixture becomes smooth). Pour mixture into prepared pans and bake for 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean. Cool on wire rack for 10 minutes before removing from pan.

Prepare Ganache:
Place the cream in pan and bring to a boil, stirring. Add the chocolate and stir until melted and combined. Pour into a mixer bowl and whisk until fuggy and cool, about 5 minutes. Reserve 1/3 of the ganache.
To Assemble:
Put the first cake layer on a platter. Spread some of the ganache over the cake. Put the second layer then frost all over with the remaining ganache. Pipe the reserved ganache to cover the top of the cake. Decorate with chocolate shavings and drizzle with chocolate syrup. Chill before serving.
